Dr. Lam has practiced medicine for over 30 years and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Lam graduated from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio with a B.A. (Higher Honors) in Biology. Dr. Lam excelled at Oberlin College studying cell biology at National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, marine biology at Bermuda Biological Station, Bermuda and molecular biology at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee (Oak Ridge Science Semester)

Dr. Lam attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as a third year medical student and received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College. Dr. Lam also completed his Internal Medicine internship program through a combined Vanderbilt/Meharry program at Metro Nashville General Hospital. He has extensive experience in Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Emergency Medicine most recently in Lamar, CO. He also is proud to have served as a Captain in the US Army Reserves.

Dr. Lam says he chose Grand River because of the ability to treat his patients close to home and meet the demand of the patients within one single entity instead of automatically having to send a patient to a large facility in a large city. “Rural Health offers so many opportunities, as well as challenges. You see a whole spectrum of conditions, which makes rural medicine so exciting to me.” says Dr. Lam. He is passionate about treating and serving the underserved and loves working with the senior population. Dr. Lam adds “I am dedicated to providing quality care to our geriatric population, they deserve to be treated with care and compassion” He is committed to being a part of the community and can’t wait to meet “everybody”

Dr. Lam has moved to the Battlement Mesa area with his wife, Helen and their German shepherd, Rocky. In their free time, the Lams enjoy the outdoors, and exploring the area.
