Julie believes that we all have innate power to grow and change throughout our lives.  She is consistently impressed by clients’ abilities to take control of their lives and strive for better outcomes.  Her passion is working with children and adolescents through the school-based health model in order to help young people recognize this power early on.
When she isn’t working, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs.  She loves to camp, hike, read, sew, and draw/paint.

 Expertise

Julie has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.  She has worked with a wide variety of diagnoses and concerns, but has perhaps worked most extensively with trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting concerns, and adjustment to life changes.  Julie enjoys working with clients utilizing many theories and modalities including art and play, as well as working to change unhelpful belief systems and ways of interacting with others and the environment.

Julie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based treatment modality for trauma, as well as many other concerns.  She also holds her Certified Addictions Counselor II (CACII) credential, meaning that she has received supplementary training and supervision in the treatment of drug and alcohol problems.
