Maternal post-partum depression (PPD) is a serious mental health issue that is often overlooked after the birth of a baby. Doctors focus on the health and progress of the newborn, yet often forget to ask mom how she is feeling. This session will provide an overview of post-partum depression. We will discuss various ways PPD can manifest itself, and various treatments that help mom return to her usual self. We will also spend some time talking about adjusting to a new baby (can you say sleep deprivation?!), adjusting to parenting roles, and brainstorming ways to keep time for yourself in your busy schedule.
There is no cost to attend the group and there is no need to sign up – just show up!
