The Sleep Lab Coordinator functions as a collaborative member of the Cardiopulmonary Services team. Performs Polysomnography functions for Grand River Hospital District (GRHD). Responsible for overseeing the daily patient care activities in the Sleep Lab. Key responsibilities and duties include direct patient care in assisting patients with the successful completion of sleep studies and related procedures.
Interviews and prepares patients prior to studies by providing patient education regarding what will take place before, during and after sleep studies are conducted. Works with patients after results have been provided to assist in follow up treatments such as CPAP and oxygen. Serves as a liaison between sleep study patients, staff, providers and Cardiopulmonary Services Director. Performs key functions in the development of workflows to ensure patient safety and quality care. Addresses workflow issues in collaboration with Cardiopulmonary Services Director. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Active and current registration as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) is required. Must have current BLS certification and must maintain current status throughout employment.
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing Polysomnographic Technician required.
