Kathy grew up and attended college in New Jersey before relocating to Colorado in 1991. Her dietitian career commenced in 1995 at Clagett Memorial Hospital in Rifle, where she served as the Food Service Director and Dietitian for both the hospital and E. Dene Moore Nursing Home (now Grand River Health Care Center).
Over the years, she contributed to Senior Nutrition in the valley, offering weight management classes and providing medical nutrition therapy. Kathy also worked at a school-based health clinic in the Basalt Schools, delivering individual counseling and teaching classes on specialized nutrition topics for health education. She found great fulfillment in sowing the seeds of nutrition education in the minds of young students.
During this journey, she took on a part-time role at a Care Center in Carbondale, eventually assuming the position of Food Service Director and dietitian. In a full-circle twist, Kathy returned to the place where her dietitian career began, earning her the nickname of a “boomerang.”
Kathy’s love for the outdoors is evident, with activities such as skiing, hiking, biking, golf, and a strong fondness for the ocean. She is a mother of two: Tim, and her daughter, Kaity, who is also a dietitian. Her husband, Bob, operates an HOA management company in the valley.
Kathy eagerly anticipates the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the residents at the Grand River Health Care Center, as well as in the lives of everyone she encounters. She firmly believes that working here is a privilege and embraces it wholeheartedly.
