Otolaryngology
Dr. Allphin offers a full scope of Ear, Nose and Throat services at Grand River including pediatric and adolescent services, and surgery. His sub specialty is in Pediatric Otolaryngology where he has extensive experience in complex pediatric cases, including Pediatric ICU.
When asked what drew him to rural medicine, he cites his experience doing outreach in Lebanon MO, a small rural community outside of Springfield, much like Western Garfield County. “It meant so much to the people in Lebanon that specialists and surgeons were available close to home, in their communities. Not having to travel over an hour meant more to them than I could have imagined. Rural medicine holds a special place in my heart. I love serving” says Dr. Allphin. He credits his success with his patients on being a great listener and treating his patients as if they are a member of his own family. He adds, “Nothing feels better than making a difference in someone’s quality of life!”
Dr. Allphin and his wife recently relocated to Grand Junction from Missouri to be closer to children and grandchildren. The Allphins love being in the outdoors and thoroughly enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, four wheeling, water and cross country skiing! “We love the outdoors and there is no better place to recreate outdoors than Western Colorado!” he adds.
