Welcome home!

We are excited that you chose to trust us with your care. It is an incredible honor to serve you and our communities.

Although it has many other names, the concept of the town square was developed in many European cities two thousand years ago. These inner city gathering places fostered the development of community and culture.

The new Grand River Health – Care Center features such a place. Our Town Square is a place that the residents can leave their neighborhood and head “downtown,” so to speak.  The Town Square features a café, pub, beauty salon, arts, crafts and game rooms, movie theater, spa and a general store.

The Town square is a place for community gatherings, church services, live entertainment, happy hour, holiday parties and special events. It is where life happens and meaningful memories are made. Welcome. Be there and be square.

Community Life

Our Community Life staff is here to stimulate and enrich the patient/resident experience during your stay at Grand River Health – Care Center. Our focus is to get to know each person individually in order to learn what their personal interests are. We recognize the health benefits of engaging in activities meaningful to the individual! We hope to help each resident find ways to continue with their interests, and even to develop new interests, during their stay with us.

In addition to group activities, individual activities are offered throughout the day. Computer-based projects are a favorite for many residents. For others, it may be playing card games, painting, being read to, activities in the garden or listening to music.

Spa

Our residents can enjoy the benefits of therapeutic massage, aromatherapy and facials as part of our alternative therapy program.

The Perch logo

Eat, Drink and be Merry! Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy drinks and snacks at the Garden Café and The Perch Pub

Music and Memory

Certified in 2017, the Care Center Music & Memory Program offers personalized play lists, created for each resident with their favorite music from when they were younger.

Music benefits people with pain, Alzheimer’s and dementia. The last center of the brain to be affected by these diseases is the part which enjoys music. By listening to music, old memories are re-awakened! Extensive research reveals a significant decrease in the use of psychotropic drugs with Music & Memory Programs across the nation. The Care Center is accepting donations of new and used iPods as they grow Music & Memory and hope to expand their services to hospital patients as well.
