Education
- University of Northern Colorado in Greeley in 2002, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.
I have worked in multiple areas of nursing, including: Telemetry, ICU, CCU, Medical/Surgical, ER and Nursing/Diabetes Education.
Starting my nursing career at Porter Hospital in Denver on the post-transplant and cardiac care unit. I then worked at Longmont United Hospital in the ICU before moving back to the Western Slope working at St. Mary’s Hospital on the telemetry unit. Wanting more, I then transitioned to the ICU and Coronary Care Unit. I started working at Grand River Hospital on an as needed basis in 2005 in the Med/Surg department. In 2007 I was able to transition into a full time position in the Emergency Room, where I worked for 12 years. Most recently, in the Spring of 2019, I got an amazing opportunity to explore more of the education aspect of nursing, working as a Nurse/Diabetes Educator in the Changing Life Styles Department. I have made many community contacts and feel accomplished in my field. One of the many reasons I enjoy nursing is that it allows you to always explore and expand your knowledge. Making a difference in just one person’s day is the reason I continue to do my job.
