Kevin May, MD
Dr. May has been providing advanced ophthalmology care to patients in Colorado since 2004, when he and his wife relocated from the East Coast.
Dr. May is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Originally from Buffalo, New York, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo before completing his medical degree at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. He completed an internship at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. May further specialized through a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at Beraja Medical Clinic in Coral Gables, Florida.
Dr. May first fell in love with Colorado during college and moved to the Denver area at the earliest opportunity. After selling his practice in Westminster, he relocated to the Western Slope, where he currently sees patients in Rifle and Leadville. He values the authentic nature of rural communities and enjoys building personal connections with his patients by listening to their stories and experiences. Known for being approachable and easy to talk to, Dr. May strives to treat every patient with the same care and respect he would want for himself. He takes great pride in delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Outside of work, Dr. May and his wife enjoy exploring Colorado’s outdoors through biking, skiing, running, and hiking.
