Ellen Melrose, MD is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. She graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2012 and completed a transitional year internship at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. She then completed her dermatology residency at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI, followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She was a staff dermatologist and dermatopathologist at HealthPartners Medical Group in St. Paul, MN as well as a faculty member of the HealthPartners Institute Dermatology Residency program prior to joining Grand River in 2024.

Dr. Melrose treats a wide variety of dermatologic issues including acne, eczema, psoriasis, autoimmune blistering disorders, and skin cancer. She enjoys correlating skin findings in the clinic with skin biopsies under the microscope to help patients get a more definitive diagnosis and targeted treatment plan. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatopathology she also has special interests in quality improvement and mentoring young physicians in dermatology.
